Hot runner manifold steel should have enough corrosion resistance, abrasive resistance and hardness, when designing the hot runner manifold. As many kinds of fiberglass reinforced plastic will wear mould parts and hot runner manifold, so the hot runner should be good in abrasive resistance. At the same time, hot runner manifold has to reduce the contact area with the mould, preventing heat loss. As the contact area is smaller, the local mechanical pressure will increase, so the hot runner manifold steel should have enough hardness to endure the higher mechanical pressure.
